BASELINE CARBINE FUNDAMENTALS: This course will provide the shooter with the critical knowledge, confidence and skills to safely handle, carry and deploy their rifle. The following topics will be covered:

– Overview of carbine rifles: definition, characteristics, and types.
– Rifle Mechanics and Operation
-Understanding the parts and functions of a carbine rifle.
Operating controls: safety, magazine release, bolt release, etc.
-Loading and unloading procedures.
-Shooting Fundamentals
-Stance: proper body positioning for stability and recoil management.
-Grip: techniques for a firm and consistent hold on the rifle.
-Sight alignment and sight picture: aligning sights for accurate shooting.
-Trigger control: techniques for smooth and controlled trigger pulls.
-Marksmanship Drills
-Understanding the use of a sling.
-Zeroing: adjusting sights or optics to ensure rifle accuracy at a specific distance.
-Target acquisition: acquiring and engaging targets quickly and effectively.
– Controlled pairs: firing two shots in rapid succession while maintaining accuracy.
– Shooting from various positions: standing, kneeling, prone, and supported positions.
– Shooting on the move: techniques for shooting while advancing or retreating.
– Reloading techniques: tactical reloads, speed reloads, and malfunction drills.
– Shooting from cover: utilizing cover effectively while engaging targets.
– Stress inoculation drills: introducing stressors to simulate real-life situations and test performance under pressure.
– Team drills: coordination and communication in a team setting.
